Cheerfulness of spirit

Lord of the Night by Nicholas Roerich. 19181. "The mystery of the eternal youth of the spirit must be understood with the heart. Hence the unfading cheerfulness. Despondency is not characteristic of a burning heart." [Facets of Agni Yoga 1956, 112]

2. "Man must always be on the threshold of the future. Man is new every moment. ...The wisdom of the realization of new combinations unites the past with the future. It is not easy to know constantly and courageously that each moment renovates the worlds, but out of this source is born inexhaustible vigor. " [Fiery World II, 70]

3. "Fatigue, drowsiness and all other body conditions can be overcome by the fiery will. ...The fiery power of the spirit is inexhaustible. It is only necessary to call her to action. ...Cheerfulness of spirit is also a fiery achievement. Despondency is not peculiar to fire." [Facets of Agni Yoga 1960, 65]

4. "Creativeness is the basis of evolution. With what then is it possible to strengthen the acts of creative power? Only with cheerfulness. Joy is a special wisdom. Cheerfulness is a special technique. This enhancement of vigor arises out of a conscious realization of the creativeness of elements. Truly, creative patience and cheerfulness are the two wings of the worker." [New Era Community, 163]

5. "Cheerfulness of spirit is the key to success. Namely, the joy of life is not in luxury and abundance, but in a profound awareness of the deep meaning and purpose of life as such. It is then that every work becomes a source of joy and ascent." [Letters of Helena Roerich in 9 Volumes - 6. 157]

6. "Man should realize that he can regenerate himself, no matter what his condition. …But to do it he must develop a strong will. ...Thus uninterrupted self-regeneration can take place; this is one of the most exalted feelings. The Thinker said, “Friends! You can call self-regeneration self-encouragement.”" [Supermundane, 894]

7. "The main thing is cheerfulness. It is like a magnet." [Culture by Nicholas Roerich]

8. "...It is on difficult days that cheerfulness is especially valuable." [America by Nicholas Roerich]

9. "...Keep a cheerful mood – these wings carry both high and far." [Culture by Nicholas Roerich]

10. "...Unbreakable cheerfulness of spirit and body brings health." [Facets of Agni Yoga 1956, 942]

11. "The “eagle eye” of the yogi was described long ago. This fiery and ever-alert quality is achieved by a yogi through prolonged contemplation. A yogi strives toward mobility and clarity of thought. A yogi has learned that he must be vigilant in order to advance. Such vigilance must occur even during sleep." [Supermundane, 896]

12. "Consciousness should always be awake both in sleep and in reality. Waking consciousness is a force that can dispel darkness. The feeling of this power can be very vivid. It gives a victorious state to the spirit." [Facets of Agni Yoga 1968, 602]
