1. "Steadfast is he who has devoted himself to the Highest. If there is any wavering in him, it means there has not been a true conception about the Highest." [Fiery World II, 314]
2. "...The steadfast consciousness is born of the link with the Highest." [Supermundane, 447]
3. "The steadfastness of the spirit is the property of an Arhat. When everything fluctuates, only the core of the spirit will be a sign of stability. ...The Foundations [of Life] are unshakable – stand on them and assert yourself." [Facets of Agni Yoga 1959, 2]
4. "The chief requisite is steadfastness, when in your heart you yourself know that there is no other way..." [Fiery World I, 21]
5. "An ignorant person will be puzzled about how to overcome feelings of cold or hunger. The one who understands the essence of things knows that these sensations cannot be made to disappear, but the spirit can be strengthened so that nothing will unsettle it. ...A cold one can warm himself as long as his spirit understands why he must protect himself...." [Agni Yoga, 192]
6. "...Strong is the shield of the one who fully realizes lawfulness. One must have not only trust, not only faith, but also a sense of righteousness. Otherwise, how could the great saints and martyrs have withstood their hardships? Truly, only through an awareness of righteousness were they able to accept abuse with a joyous heart. …In the Great Service there must be an invincible constancy in the realization of righteousness. People lose their strength when they lose their sense of righteousness, and how can one advance if one’s feet do not feel the firm ground?
…People who have gone through many dangers can testify that only their sense of righteousness carried them over the abyss. Let each one think about the moments of danger and ask what actually saved him.." [Supermundane, 112]
7. "One should not make mistakes – stop in front of an obstacle, no matter how insurmountable it may seem. It is necessary to go forward and act as if this obstacle does not exist, as if there is no one of them, it has been overcome, that is, to move and act in the accepted direction. It will be a sign of weakness of spirit to be intimidated by an obstacle and retreat before it. Only before the steadfastness of the spirit and the immutability of the step the heavy lock of the iron door will open, the door, closing a narrow passage in the wall of complex material conditions that have become an obstacle on a difficult path. There are solutions to every difficulty in life, there is a way out of every situation." [Facets of Agni Yoga 1959, 93]
8. "Calmness of the heart means firmness and imperturbability. By understanding this, one can attain the tension that leads to Nirvana. But how many stages must one pass through with courage in order to grasp the imperturbability of the heart!" [Heart, 379]
9. "What is the steadfastness of the spirit, if it’s not steady, evenly burning flame? Under pressure, the flame acquires special stability, as in a blowtorch lamp. Hence there are difficulties and burdening of the spirit with circumstances, so that the fires will ignite." [Facets of Agni Yoga 1955, 251]
10. "It is futile to think that chaos is somewhere faraway; it is admitted by humanity during all disorderly thinking. Only a steadfast consciousness can be a protection against chaos." [Brotherhood, 129]
11. "And what steels the armor of steadfastness more strongly than the wish to lead others to Light?" [Leaves of Morya’s Garden II, 301]
